As believers, what is our ultimate concern in our relationship with God? Is it to get or give? Is it to form fan clubs around ourselves or form disciples around our Lord? Do we prefer to do what we can to build our own kingdoms rather than the kingdom of our God?
When Jesus sends us as He sent His disciples (Mk. 6:7-13), He provides for all our needs so that we can focus and fulfil the mission at hand. When we learn to die to self-interest, it is then that our lives become channels for God-interest.
Lord Jesus, You call and transform us so that we can impact our world for Your glory. May our lives be less pre-occupied with self, and more focussed on advancing Your kingdom. Amen.
