When the time was right, Elizabeth the barren gave birth to a son (Lk. 1:57-66). Later, Mary the virgin would also give birth to a son. If the barren and virgin can both become mothers, then is anything impossible for God? Today, dare to commend everything into the hands of our God. The ‘hardest ground’ can become ‘fertile soil’ with our powerful Lord.
Loving God, nothing is impossible with You. You create and You renew. Your justice sees us guilty and condemned, but Your mercy rescues and restores us. May our thanks and praise find favour with You, as we eagerly await the wonderful celebration of Christmas. Amen.
