Human beings listen to words and assess actions. Only God knows our true intentions. So do we intentionally aim to heal like Jesus, or to create disharmony (Lk. 11:14-23)? We can deceive others, and even ourselves, by our words and actions.
The Lord knows our true intentions. We cannot outwit the Lord. When our words ‘mask’ our real intentions, we become a people who lack integrity. During the Season of Lent, let us all pray to be authentic disciples, whose aim is to uplift the lives of all.
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge that Your intention, words and actions were all synchronised to bring salvation to all people. May we imitate Your example and choose to be instruments of real peace, joy and mercy in this world. Amen.
