To care for someone connected by ‘blood’ is love. To care for someone connected through ‘relationship’ is virtue. Joseph was not the ‘natural’ father of Jesus, but his love for Jesus and Mary (Mt. 1:16-24) provide the basis for caring for everyone that the Lord sends into our lives. Today, dare to care and act in true sacrificial love.
Loving Father, You appointed Joseph to be the guardian of Mary and Jesus. May our lives reflect Your goodness by our choosing to be kind in all our words and actions. Amen.
