God made us free so that we can choose. We can choose life or death (Dt. 30:15-19). We acknowledge God’s word but our ego, appetite and selfishness lead to actions, like Adam and Eve, that go against what God commands and bring Him displeasure.
The Season of Lent is a time of grace for us to own when we have willingly rebelled against God’s laws and His prophets (Mt. 5:17-19). Sin is the result of breaking the law. However, grace and mercy through Jesus save us all. Return to Him and give thanks.
Lord Jesus, You came down from heaven to save us and bring us back to our Father. May we choose to remain in Your love, embrace Your healing grace, and be effective signs of reconciliation with You and each other. Amen.
