God did not create us in order to take pleasure to destroy us. From the beginning, He gave us all that we need so that we may have life (Gn. 1). Despite our disobedience to Him; the destruction of the environment; the preference we have for darkness and the anguish we give to each other, God sent His Son to save us (Jn. 3:16-21).
It is the Father’s delight that we His children enjoy and celebrate life. It is our Father’s pain to watch us destroy ourselves and each other. It is the Father’s love that prompts Him to send His only Son to rescue us and grant eternal life. So the real question we need to all answer is: do we want to be with our Father? If yes, then live to please Him.
Loving Father, You sent Your obedient Son to suffer and die so that we can be led back to the garden of paradise. May we never lose sight of how much You love us. May Your Spirit empower us to choose the path that pleases You and leads us home to You. Amen.
