“I will be your sunshine, if you will be my flower.” Images expressed through words help us to understand the mystery of God who is love. Jesus is our light and we are the flowers in His picturesque garden. Love is meant to be reciprocal even as it is meaningful.
Our Lord who shines on each of us, tells us to love each other as He loves us (Jn. 15:12). It is a specific type of love, one that is meant to be life-giving, uplifting, and truly beautiful to experience. Pray to love others, not a command, but as imitating our God.
Lord Jesus, You are love in the flesh. Shine Your love upon us. Help us to embrace You, so that we may choose to love everyone because this is what pleases You most. Amen.
