Easter Bytes

What troubles your heart? Many issues in life often stir contentment or contention. We sometimes take the things that stir contentment for granted: health; positive relationships; gathering for worship; clean air to breathe and stable income are some of the few. But we do not dismiss the experiences that disturb our hearts. These cause anxiety and stress.

Our Lord states, “Do not let your hearts be troubled” (Jn. 14:1). It is natural to react to those experiences that promote worry, fear or restlessness. But we have the assurance from our all-powerful Jesus that we are to trust Him and have faith. Like the photographer focussing on the framed picture, we must focus on the Lord at all times and wait on Him to act.

Lord Jesus, there is no problem so big that You cannot solve. Help us to trust in Your power and not in our own strength. May we give You praise for the wonders You perform. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
