How easily we make and break our promises. Whether orally or written, we somehow find reasons to justify breaking promises made, and are comfortable acting in this way. Such a mindset and behaviour speaks of the immature character of the promiser.
Mary highlights the faithful nature of our God. She states that He remembers His promise of mercy, which is kept in perpetuity (Lk. 1:39-56). The Lord keeps His promise whether we are deserving or not. Like Mary, may our spirits rejoice in God our Saviour.
Loving Father, You show us how to live and love. You keep Your promises and do all that You can to save us. May we, like Mary, glorify You all the days of our lives. Amen.
