The test of faith is not found in the moment of peace, but when the storm blows. It is easy to speak of faith when times are good, but the authenticity and depth of faith is revealed when crises surface, and sadness and fear creep into the experience of our lives.
The disciples were afraid when the storm disrupted their journey in the boat. But they were brought to the shore when Jesus appeared to them (Jn. 6:16-21). The events in life will test our faith. However, if we trust in the Lord and call on Him, He will bring us to safety.
Lord Jesus, You are our protector and source of faith when the storms of life surface. Hear our cry. Come and rescue us. Lead us to safety by the power of Your resurrection. Amen.
