We all want to be with the Lord and live eternally with Him in heaven. But in order for this to happen, we have to die. Death is the doorway from this life to the next. We therefore do not fear death because our Lord has conquered the grave and lives forever.
Since this life prepares us for the life that is to come, then we begin from now to put death into perspective. We put to death our habits, vice and sin that do not please God. We also learn how not to let our attachments (Mk. 10:17-27) become barriers to God.
‘Naked’ we came into this world, and without any possessions, ‘naked’ we shall enter into heaven.
Lord Jesus, as You provide for our daily needs, may we place all with which we are blessed into proper perspective. Help us not to allow anything to keep us from You. Amen.
