The power of a parent’s love knows no limits. In today’s gospel, a mother approaches the Lord and appeals to Him for her daughter (Mk. 7:24-30). A foreign woman approaching a Jewish teacher was forbidden. But the love of the mother broke all conventions and led to her daughter’s healing.
May we always give thanks for the prayers of our parents. May all families persevere in their faith and trust in the Lord to hear us and deliver us.
Lord Jesus, hear the cries of all mothers and fathers for their children. Grant all children Your healing and strength. May we all live as one family who worship You, our one Lord. Amen.
