The unclean spirits said to Jesus, “You are the Son of God” (Mk. 3:12). It acknowledged Jesus’ authority over them. It also pointed to the distance that existed between them since this statement of fact denoted a title and not a love relationship.

Believers will also cry out that Jesus is the Son of God. But they will move on to say “My Lord and my God” (Jn. 20:28). For us, the Son of God is also our personal and communal Saviour. We give praise to Lord with our lips, our hearts and our entire lives.

Lord Jesus, we worship and adore You as Saviour of our lives. May the praise we offer with our lips also be accompanied by the dedicated service of our entire being. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
