One way to hold on to our faith in the Lord and to keep growing in love for Him is to exercise our memory. Recalling those times when the Lord healed us of our various ailments, just like He healed Simon’s mother-in-law and the people in today’s gospel (Mk. 1:29-39), will stir our hearts to give thanks and strengthen our will to be of service to Him.
Doctor Jesus, pour Your healing power upon us. May Your Spirit course through every fibre of our being, so that as we experience Your saving power and recall Your restoring grace at various moments in our lives, we will express our gratitude by offering You fitting worship and dedicated service. Amen.
