So impressive was John the Baptist’s ministry, that Herod declared that Jesus was John risen from the dead (Mt. 14:1-2). This sets the stage for Christendom. Like John, Jesus is put to death. However, unlike the Baptist, Christ is truly risen. The question for each and every follower of the Lord is, “Do people identify Christ alive in me?”
If Jesus is to ‘increase’ in me, I must be ready to die to self, ego and sin.
Sweet Saviour, Your Spirit fills our lives so that we can be Your voice of good news; Your arms of embracing love and Your presence of peace and joy. Be glorified today. Amen.
