Which lover ever said to the beloved, “You have captured every iota of my being. I am so captivated by your presence that I want to count every hair on your head.” The beloved would either die of laughter or recommend a qualified senior psychiatrist.
Love makes us fools. But even more, love can drive us insane to the point of offering one’s life for the sake of the other. We worship a God who is madly in love with us, who has died for us and who has ‘foolishly’ counted the hairs on our heads (Mt. 10:30).
God has revealed His patient and long-suffering love for us. What is our response?
Lord Jesus, Your enduring and sacrificial love for us knows no limits. You have given us all that You are for our salvation. May we give ourselves completely to You, be enraptured in Your enticing presence and take comfort in the warmth of Your embrace. Amen.
