Nature abhors a vacuum. If we do not fill a space with one thing, it will be filled, either with or without our consent, by something else. If we do not fill ourselves with the presence of the Lord, then the devil will see this as an opportunity to take up residence.
When Jesus said, “The Son of Man has nowhere to rest His head” (Mt. 8:20), He is actually prodding us to invite Him into our hearts, minds and lives. Do we willingly give consent to Him and make room for the Lord to live in our thoughts and daily choices?
Come Lord Jesus, and live inside of me. May You so occupy every area and aspect of my life that the light of Your love, joy and peace may shine for all to see. Amen.
