Daily Bytes

If we trust God, He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. He who knows what we need even before we ask Him, has already put plans in place for our good. Like Paul, we will be led to thank the few who came to our rescue (Phil. 4:10-19) as they yielded to the promptings of the Spirit. At other times, we will be amazed at how God either sends strangers, or works through circumstances, to reveal His divine providence.

Reliance on the bounty of God does not mean we sit back and not work. The worker has to labour to earn wages. It is in the context of one’s life that God manifests His power. Envy of other’s wealth will surface. Greed will inspire one to want more and even replace the God of love for the god of materialism (Lk. 16:13). Being satisfied with one’s blessings and working to improve one’s status are keys to peace. God always rewards the faithful.

Loving Lord, all power, glory and riches are Yours. In Your goodness, You watch over us and provide for our daily needs. As we give You thanks for Your blessings in our lives, we ask You to give us the gift of confident faith that no matter what, all will be well. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
