There are two theological truths: that our Lord created everything in existence and that He has promised to be with us until the end of time. If we combine them, then we can take comfort in knowing that in and through all things, His power will sustain us.
This conscious awareness should make us rise above any sense of defeatism. Being alert to “interpret the present time” (Lk. 12:54-56) is a call to have faith in our God whose hand is upon us. It is He who will guide us safely through any crisis or challenge in life.
Loving Lord, in Your presence we have the fulness of joy and peace that we need. May our trust, faith and confidence in Your power sustain us through all experiences of life. Amen.
