We love God but do we also fear Him? God loves us and wants what is good for us. We are told to fear God because He has the power to cast us into hell (Lk. 12:5). His love is not to be taken for granted. Indeed, if we truly love God, we will not want to displease Him.
Believers need to appreciate the magnitude of God’s grace that empowers us to show our love by living by His word. His mercy is given when we recognize our sins and repent. But for those who persist in their disobedience, eventually those choices lead to hell.
Father, may we Your children neither take Your love for granted nor ignore Your commands in how we are to live. Accept our offering of mutual love by the sincere worship we render, the embracing of Your will and the burning desire to be with You forever. Amen.
