God’s people are empowered by His Spirit to live as His children, bear fruit that pleases Him and inherit our salvation (Gal. 5:22-23). Those who resist the Spirit and live according to the works of the flesh will not inherit eternal life (Gal. 5:19-21).
Our Lord warns those who “pay no attention to judgement and to love for God” (Lk. 11:42). These are the ones who are neither ‘hot nor cold’ for the Lord. Their lukewarm or selective spirituality puts them on the path to destruction. Listen and live.
Merciful Saviour, Your desire for our salvation caused You to mortify Your flesh and die on the cross. As we ponder Your perfect sacrifice, may we choose to convert from our sinful ways, put to death the works of our flesh and bear sweet fruits that nourish and inspire. Amen.
