Our Lord reminds us that our ‘inside’ is just as important as our ‘outside’ (Lk. 11:37-41). We take time to make our exterior presentable with fine clothes, a nice smile and choice words. But we also need to pay attention to any evil in our hearts and minds.
When we allow our anger or selfish agenda; pretence over authentic love; insensitivity over kindness; greed over generosity, or repeatedly harnessing the yoke of sin (Gal. 5:1), then we need to let the Lord clean our inside. God’s grace and mercy are unlimited.
Merciful Lord, pour Your healing upon us and cleanse us from our sins. As You purify our intentions and agendas, may the words and actions we express give You glory. Amen.
