Dare to dream. Engage your imagination. What would our family, country and world be like if everyone ‘converted’ to the ways of the Lord? Think of a society where needs are met and no one is lacking; real respect for all and each person’s dignity is upheld; forgiveness and reconciliation are the order of the day; peace is promoted, life is celebrated and love is the ‘glue’ that holds everything and everyone together.
If we can dream it, then we can achieve it. If we can conceive it, then we can work towards it. Whatever we can imagine, by turning to our God and seeking His direction, it is possible to be the instrument and part of the solution for a better world. If Jonah alone could cause the entire city of Nineveh to convert and live good lives (Lk. 11:29-32), then it is within the realm of possibility that each and all of us can co-create a world of beauty.
Loving Father, like Jonah, we humbly ask You to empower us and send each of us to play our part in making this world a better place. May the faith we exercise in You, the hope we seek to inspire in others and the love of Your creation all serve to make us dream and achieve. Amen.
