Our Lord knows our thoughts (Lk. 11:17). Our words and actions may paint a picture, but when the intentions and thoughts are also added, the picture may very well take on a new and different character. It reveals the authentic state of the heart.
Although the crowd followed the Lord, their thoughts as manifested in their words showed the disconnect and division among them. Believers should cultivate thoughts that keep us connected to our God. Good thoughts lead to good words and actions.
Loving Lord, we pray that the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be a pleasant and acceptable offering in Your sight. Help us to think, speak and be good. Amen.
