Our God is holy. When we ‘enter’ into His presence, it should be with a sense of awe and a conscious awareness of our sins. These sins form an ‘external’ barrier that is washed away by the blood of Jesus, and the grace present in our baptism and confession.
However, the ‘internal’ barrier has to be addressed. Our Lord tells us that our prayer will be effective if we first forgive others so that God can forgive us (Mk. 11:26). This double act of forgiveness not only heals our minds and hearts, but also stirs blessings for all.
Lord Jesus, pour Your Spirit of love upon us so that we can truly forgive each other without limits. Teach us how to embrace Your mercy so that we may share it with others. Amen.
