There is a logic that we know but tend to ignore: everything comes from God, is sustained by God and eventually returns to God. Therefore, the single most important person to love and please is our God. Whether we please people or not, they cannot give eternal life.
This truth is revealed in today’s parable of the talents (Mt. 25:14-30). Any gift or blessing we receive should be directed towards God who will reward us. Anyone who is too stingy to love our Lord will only hurt yourself. With all that we are and have, glorify our God.
Loving Lord, we thank and praise You for the wonderful ways You bless and provide for us. May we use the gift of our lives to make You happy, as we offer You fitting worship. Amen.
