Daily Bytes

Every parent, grandparent, teacher, godparent, caregiver and adult supervisor is given the responsibility to carry the children to the Lord (Mt. 19:13-15). With so many attractions and distractions in our world, now more than ever, we cannot neglect the important mission of revealing Christ’s love and promise of eternal life to our little ones. Jesus demands this.

Our children must hear the good news about Jesus from our lips, and also hear our prayer to the Lord. They should not only see our worshipping the Lord in His house, but also see our growth in the ways of the Lord. However, if adults spend their time creating disunity, promoting hate and living contrary to the gospel, can we blame children for their indifference?

Lord Jesus, You command us to carry our children to You, because You have only good gifts to offer. May our fidelity to our designated mission lead our children into Your joyful presence and the security of Your embracing love. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
