We are all adopted sons and daughters of our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus. This is why Jesus declares that we are His mother, brothers and sisters (Mt. 12:46-50). But there is an important point to note.
Our being a family of God is a reality we cannot undo or deny. God made us and we are His children. However, the affirmation of this truth is evidenced by our striving and actualising the will of the Lord in our lives.
What is this will? Since God is love and we are His children, then His will is for us to reveal His love to each other. When we encounter love, we give thanks and praise. Where there is no love, we make it present.
Loving Father, we thank You for giving us life and making us as Your children. Help us to affirm our identity by embracing Your word, and revealing Your love, joy and mercy to all we meet. Amen.
