Daily Bytes

Today we bury the cremated remains of my Aunt beside her husband. United in marriage in life, they will now share the same space in death. Even as we mourn our loss, our hearts are rejoicing that they are in that place that the Lord has promised to all who love Him and do His will on earth. Our God desires and delights in our company.

Today’s gospel reminds us that it is during our lifetime that we are called to draw close to our God and follow His ways (Mt. 11:20). The Lord performs mighty and loving deeds in our lives so that we can respond to Him in the present. There is no repentance in the grave. Let us use our time of life wisely to inherit eternity with our Lord.

Lord Jesus, there is no happier place to be than in Your sacred presence. As we recognise You in our daily lives, may our lives reflect our faith and hope of being with You forever. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
