Daily Bytes

In today’s gospel (Mt. 9:18-26), Jesus cures a woman who suffered haemorrhages for years, and then raised a girl from the dead. Both events point to something even greater and more beautiful to happen. Both set the stage for a new release of God’s power in our lives.

The Church is the new Israel that calls the Lord, “My husband” (Hos. 2:16-22). He who had cured the haemorrhaging woman, would shed His blood on the cross. He who raised the girl from the dead, would grant eternal life to His bride. Truly our Lord is worthy to be praised.

Lord Jesus, we thank You for shedding Your blood so that we may be cleansed from our sins and inherit eternal life. May our gratitude be evident in our lives of faith and love. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
