Do we place greater value on eternal spiritual things, or is our energy consumed with the temporary material moments of life? Jesus shows the right order in our approach to life by firstly forgiving the paralytic of his sins (Mt. 9:1-8). Although Jesus also healed the man, his mobility will eventually end in death. Forgiveness from the Lord ensures life everlasting.
Lord Jesus, Your steadfast love for us and Your desire to have us in Your company forever, prompted Your death for the forgiveness of our sins. With humble hearts and contrite spirits, may we live as Your redeemed people as we joyfully anticipate eternity with You. Amen.
