Yesterday, we celebrated the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Today we recognise the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As the Mother poured love on her Son and pondered all He did in her heart (Lk. 2:51), so too the Son pours His love upon each of us. He who creates space in His heart for us all, invites us to be bathed in His merciful love.
When parents nurture real love in their children, the latter learn how to embrace love and share it with others. The many ills in today’s world can be traced to the lack of positive life and joy in the home. There is no greater power to transform self and others, than the power that comes from knowing one is loved by others and by our Lord.
Lord Jesus, the love You and Your heavenly Father share is beautiful and eternal. The love displayed by You and Your parents is inspiring. Teach us not only how to accept love, but to courageously and constantly reveal love in every experience of life. Amen.
