Every individual is first and foremost a child of God. One’s gender, race and nationality are secondary incidentals based on biology, birth and geography. Therefore, there is no truth to a superior individual or group, because every individual and nation is valued and loved by our Creator, who sent His Son to die for all (Jn 3:16). The conversation between Jesus and the woman (Mk. 7:24-30) reveals a progressive movement from just saving only the ‘chosen‘ Jews to salvation for all people, who trust in His power and have faith in Him.
Today and indeed always, choose to look on every individual — no matter the classification we give — and see each person with eyes of pure love. This is how God sees you and me.
Loving Father, You have created each of us with an inherent and blessed dignity that comes from being Your children. May we imitate Your Fatherly ways by loving everyone as You command, and do all that we can to live as Your family who please You. Amen.
