“I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Heb. 8:10). People imitate the deity they choose to serve. Who is our God? Jesus is the Lord of life. Therefore, our thoughts, words and actions should be aimed at empowering and encouraging life for all. This means we are called to confront a culture of death that is rooted in the denial of life and joy for others.
On this Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children, we pray for an end to the scourge of abortion and the right for children to experience life. Yes the issues are many but the graves are multitudinous. To deny a child the right to life is to disown the beauty of relationships with others and God. Let God’s grace help us to promote the gift of life.
Lord Jesus, Creator and Saviour of us all, empower us by Your Spirit to choose life and show love to all. Protect all unborn children from the evil of abortion. May we Your people exhibit intentions, words and actions that enhance the truth that we belong to You. Amen.
