Advent Byte

Updated: Dec 3, 2020

We are called and blessed for ongoing purposes. When Jesus called Peter and Andrew, He invites them to move from being fishermen to being “fishers of men” (Mt. 4:18-19). Their calling was to move them from their ‘earthly routine’ to a higher purpose. It would result in a new sense of fulfilment and “an out of this world” reward.

We who have been called, need to constantly reflect on what is our ‘new’ and concentric call within the general call to follow Him. The Lord wants us to grow, and so He gives us new direction, refined purpose and new awakening to self and service. Let us ask the Lord to discover and embrace any new purpose He plans for us.

Lord Jesus, You lovingly purify us, and lead us into new adventures of service for Your glory and our good. Help us to listen and respond as You desire. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
