When I am ‘elevated’ in life — health, promotion, marriage, award — the Lord on high is the one who “raised me up”. When I am ‘deflated’ — sickness, demotion, death, ignored — the Lord who “descended” is the One who comforts and strengthens me.
We are told that “the One who descended is the One who ascended” (Eph. 4:10). There is no mountain top experience that the Lord cannot help us to achieve. There is no dark hole from which the Lord cannot rescue us. Trust in His power and love.
Lord Jesus, You came to earth to save us and take us back to our Father. May we choose to praise and thank You for Your faithful and merciful presence in our lives. Amen.
