Despite Jesus performing miracles and preaching the good news, the Pharisees still asked for a sign from Him (Mk. 8:11-13). Their doubt did not produce a good result (Jas. 1:8). It was a feeble attempt by them to control and manipulate Jesus. When they could not have their way, they would then seek to kill Him. Beware of the Pharisaic spirit in our hearts.
Lord Jesus, Your power is unquestionable and Your love is undeniable. May we learn not to try to control You or others, but lovingly choose to be of good service to You and all. Amen.
