Daily Byte

Allow me to emphasise a point I made in yesterday’s homily, “We can be growing in some aspects of our spiritual lives, but fail to see how we are falling down in other areas.” Growth is due to God’s grace. However, we also need Him to reveal our blindspots.

Like the blind beggar in today’s gospel (Lk. 18:35-43), we too need to cry out to the Lord to help us identify the darkness in our lives that need to be addressed in order to please Him. May the thought of being healed by the Lord give us the desire to truly ‘see’.

Lord Jesus, touch us with Your healing power. May Your light illuminate our minds, hearts and entire lives, so that we can address the blindspots that keep us in the dark. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
