Daily Byte

Today’s gospel (Mk. 15:33-39; 16:1-6) affirms our memorial acclamation, “Christ has died, Christ is risen.” If we choose to die with Christ, our faith tells us that we will rise with Him. It also spurs hope for our loved ones who have died. Death is a change, not an end.

As we commemorate the departed, we give thanks for all the souls who have made an impact in our lives. We remember them with love as we surrender them to our God. He who is mighty will raise them up, and us, along with Jesus, and place all in His presence.

Lord Jesus, Your resurrection is the truth in which our faith is grounded. May this reality be the source of strength for us in this life, as we commend all who have died into Your saving and powerful hands. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
