Today, people make a concerted effort to present an exterior image. Beauty products and salons; gym membership; body contours and plastic surgery; the latest fashion trends are some of the expenses undertaken to look good on the outside.
Jesus cautions about the energy expended to care for the outside, but little is done to cure and address the evil on the inside (Lk. 11:37-41). Violent attitudes; destructive words; real passive-aggressive and psychotic behavior, all need God’s grace to be cleansed.
Lord Jesus, You are the great healer and deliverer. May Your blood and grace cleanse our ‘outside and inside selves’, so that we can become authentic disciples for Your glory. Amen.
