During the month of October, we ponder ‘episodes’ in the life of Jesus as it relates to God’s plan of salvation in the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Rather than a negation (as some tend to think) of His mother, Jesus affirms the roles of Mary and the Church.
Jesus states that those who “hear the word of God and keep it” are blessed (Lk. 11:28). His Mother Mary heard the call from God, consented and kept close to Him in His journey. The Church who gives ‘birth’ to her children through baptism, also imitates Mary.
May we all be attentive to the word of the Lord and experience His blessings in our lives.
Lord Jesus, You reveal Your covenant of love through the consent and actions of Mary and the Church. Bless us as we strive to hear Your word and allow it to guide our lives. Amen.
