Daily Byte

To extend oneself for the sake of another person is to participate in the generous power of our God. He who does not need anyone or anything, created all that exists because of His love that prompts life into existence. The Lord solidifies His generosity by sustaining us with all that we need and then, recreates us through His mercy and healing.

The aforementioned attributes of our God are revealed in today’s insightful parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk. 10:25-37). It is God Himself who “stops” when others walk by. It is the Lord who “binds our wounds” and “pays the price” for our recovery by His sacrifice on the cross. Today, let every act of sacrifice for friend or foe lead to God’s glory.

Lord Jesus, You are our ‘good Samaritan’. You bind our wounds, lift us up when we are down, and restore us to new life. Accept our praise as a sign of our gratitude. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
