Lesson and students; Word and hearers: these go hand-in-hand. Usually, there is a general ‘objective’ imparting of the lesson and Word. There are personal ‘subjective’ peculiarities concerning the students and hearers. Lesson or Word shared does not mean it is learnt.

The Lord gives all parents, teachers, pastors and believers comfort and assurance with the parable of the sower (Lk. 8:4-15). Our task is to sow the ‘seed’ of the lesson and Word. We please the Lord as sowers. It is up to the Spirit and capacity of the soil to then bear fruit.

Lord Jesus, help us to bear fruit from the Word that Your Spirit plants in us. May we allow our hearts and minds to be rich soil, so that our lives will grow into glorifying You. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
