In a globalised world, context is important. We live in a world with varied cultures that are expressed through different lifestyles, religions, ideologies, personalities and mindsets. We are all trying to attain meaning and purpose, as we seek self-actualisation and advance the well-being of our families, countries and ultimately, our entire planet. When we discover the ‘treasure’ of life that becomes our ultimate concern, we grasp it with all our strength and make sacrifices to keep it. In the context of Christianity, believers have come to recognise that Jesus made us His ‘treasure’ for which He was willing to die. So when He calls us to follow Him (Lk. 9:59), we follow our ‘treasure of love’. Lord Jesus, You are the source of our life, love and real joy. May we who hear Your voice to follow You, give You our all, as You have given Your entire self for our salvation. Amen.
