When one allows the Spirit of the Lord to guide one’s life, conflict cannot be avoided. This truth is evident in the ministry of Jesus (Lk. 4:16-30). All that He says and does is good, but His light will always disturb the darkness in others. This then leads to spiritual warfare. Conflict is inevitable because light and darkness cannot co-exist on the same plane. The evidence of the Spirit at work is the presence of conflict. This is ironic since the Spirit is about love and unity. But this only happens when everyone is purified from darkness. Come Holy Spirit, and fill us with Your light. Strengthen us in times of conflict and help us to carry our cross. May our perseverance gain us the crown of everlasting life. Amen.
