Our growth in holiness is an ongoing journey from selfishness to selflessness. It is moving from keeping the laws of the Lord out of fear, to obeying His commands out of love (Mt. 19:16-22). The more we seek to please our God by living according to His word and will, the greater becomes our appetite for the Lord of heaven rather than the things of earth.
Lord Jesus, You revealed the measure of Your love for us by giving Your entire self on the cross for our salvation. May we respond by giving You all that we have and are. Amen.
