Parents and Grandparents are expected to raise their children to know our God. Mary and Joseph both carried the infant Jesus to the Temple. They showed by personal example the importance of worship and the value of accompanying the child, which allows for growth in wisdom and favour (Lk. 2:36-40).
It is understandable for Parents to protect their children in a pandemic. But the negative reinforcement in keeping children away from Church, but being comfortable with taking them to restaurants; sending them to parties or other ceremonies; or traveling in a plane, will have repercussions. Pray and discern.
Lord Jesus, Your mother and father reinforced the priority of worship by their personal example and accompaniment. Help all parents to exercise their spiritual duty. Amen.
