What is more comforting than the image of an infant fast asleep in the arms of the parent? What is more endearing that the image of the lover lost in the embrace of the beloved? What can offer greater security than the disciple who rests (Mt. 11:28) in the presence of the Lord, the one who offers salvation and eternal life?
Take some time out today from all our activities, and be still in the conscious awareness of our God, who has only good things in store for us. He who comes down the “chimney of our hearts” will fill the “stockings of our lives” with countless blessings.
Come Lord Jesus, and fill us with Your saving grace. May we never allow the attractions or distractions of life to keep us away from Your loving presence. Amen.
