When the Lord called us into life, He made us to care for ourselves and each other. We do the former by eating a balanced and healthy diet; getting fresh air and exercise; taking our rest and vitamins, and making time to commune with our loving God. He who commands us to love others as we love ourselves, expects us to practice proper self-love.
This will then spill over to loving and caring for others, by reminding them to do the same. In this time of a pandemic, ours is the task to keep self and others safe and healthy. This also includes taking others to the Lord ( (Lk. 5:18-19), whether in personal prayer or to Church, or even the sharing of our faith experiences. Let true love shine this Advent.
Lord Jesus, You revealed true love by the way You prayed for us, imparted healing and gave us Your word that leads to life. Teach us to do the same as we strive to be agents of love. Amen.
