Advent Byte

So here we are beloved, we made it to the Eve of Christmas. This has been a challenging year, but by the grace of God we made it. Even as we pray for those who have died, our spirits rejoice for the gifts of life, love and joy that come from God’s benevolence. Like Zechariah (Lk. 1:67-79), we too can break out into a song of praise and thanksgiving to our God, whose promises are true and whose faithfulness is assured.

Let us walk into the Season of Christmas with expectant faith and not be paralysed by fear. If we “trust in the Lord at all times and do not lean according to our understanding”, He will not only guide our steps but will also lead us into “green pastures”. Our God will never leave us nor forsake us. Truly He is worthy to be praised. God is good all the time, and all the time our God is good. To Him be glory and praise forever.

I take this opportunity to wish for you and your loved ones, a very Merry Christmas and a truly Happy New Year. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.

Blessed are You O Lord, for there is none to compare with You. You are loving and full of mercy. May we who receive Your grace and goodness always bless Your name. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
